Invest in Africa is a group of companies who have experienced first-hand the economic, social and political transformation of Africa over past few decades.
Africa’s growth has unlocked numerous opportunities and attracted global investors from across all sectors. We believe that Africa’s growth story should be one of local inclusion and capacity building as well as economic organic growth. We promote responsible investment practices through our Partners, contributing towards a sustainable supply chain.
Through their presence in Africa, our Partners commit to creating long–term sustainable partnerships with local businesses to develop a strong economy through the creation of local jobs, the improving of skills and the raising of standards across sectors.
Our Partners have robust environmental and social governance (ESG) systems in place and continue to strengthen them in their day-to-day operations. Our Partners demonstrate their commitment to governance and transparency by executing anti-bribery and corruption controls throughout their value chain. In addition, we support the implementation of the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, which calls for the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining, the elimination of forced or compulsory labour, the abolition of child labour and the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
We will actively work with local suppliers to extend these sustainable principles to their supply chain and embed these practices into their own operations by providing access to workshops, training and mentorship. This will strengthen Africa’s key sectors and support local businesses to partner with international investors, improving their access to new clients and markets, skills and finance.
We will increase the visibility of credible local suppliers to new investors through our online business directory, the African Partner Pool. This initiative will measure the progress of local suppliers as well as successful partnerships with a view to encourage local businesses to embed and demonstrate their ESG standards by:
- Highlighting their ability to deliver goods and services to internationally accepted standards
- Creating incentives for other such businesses to adopt these standards
